kamlin's party

today we went as a family to kamlin's 12th birthday party at salt pond. as usual, the food was soooo ono.

of course we had chicken long rice, chicken luau, pork laulau, potato salad, lomi salmon, poke, patele, and lots and lots of poi (courtesy of dad's plate). those other long things, was kankanin (sp?) which is basically filipino mochi.

this is the only picture i have of kam, with her piñata because my other picture with her by her cake got deleted. ='( apparently, it's naholoholo tradition to have a piñata at the birthday parties.

after eating, we went to the shore to look at the beach. despite it being super windy (unusually more than salt pond usually is), the beach was really pretty (once again, courtesy of bubs).

it's good to be home. =P

finally!

guess what.... I GOT A JOB!!! =) i will be a working woman come june 10th! YAAAYYY!!!

i'll be working at the kekaha neighborhood center as a teacher in a youth summer program sponsored by the county. i'll be getting paid pretty good, and it'll be from june 10 through july 26 with other fingerprinting, registration, and orientations before that. it may be hard work, but i've finally got a job, and i'm just happy to have some money coming in, and wanted to share my good news! that's all. =D

for you, nell

this morning i went walking with mom and dad, and i saw FIVE shooting/falling stars by the time we came back home. i made a wish on the third, but thought of nell, for all of them. nell and dad had this thing, where anytime dad made sounds like "uh uh uh" (in an uncle tommy voice), that meant a shooting star. i found five of them this morning. one for me, the rest were for her. =)

another thing i thought of was the stop light. there's this one stoplight at the corner of the basketball courts and the neighborhood center (elepaio rd), that always used to turn off just as we walked into the intersection. this morning it was opposite and it turned on. mom said "that's for you nell." i think she missed her too. =) anyways... i thought of her this morning... that's all.

it was SOOOOOOO ono. long time i never have poi. my dinner was literally and exclusively fried poke and poi. YUMMMM! =)

it was well-worth my p90x workout. i had to do plyometrics (which is squats and lunges)... so guess what meags.... tomorrow my okole is gonna hurt! =P

so quickly

nell left for the mtc today. it's kinda sad, but i'm excited for her. she's a FULL TIME missionary. it seems kinda weird that she's already on her way there. the time she was here seemed to pass so quickly!! i'm sure she'll have a wonderful experience. =)

we rushed off from dropping nell off at the airport (dad realized that it's like at the mtc... drop off at the curb and go) because ally had a concert... so i didn't get a picture. ally's concert was good... she did very well. =) i think she was excited that it was her last for the year tho. almost pau!

i also re-started p90x today. it was HARD, of course, but it's good to hurt (never thought i'd say THAT). =P
