... is BYU FOOTBALL time! :)

amy came with me to our opening game against washington (thanks amy! :D)... which was so great! we (or... i suppose the right word is "i") screamed and cheered and i had SOOOO much fun (you can totally ask her if you don't believe me)! did i tell you that it's like my most favorite sport to watch in the world? well... it is. and it was great to be back in the stadium. it almost felt like i was just there. funny huh?

anyway... one of my girls is in the marching band (she plays the french horn) and so i was so so SOOO excited when they did a pre-game show. i think they did MUCH better than last year (and the cougarettes too). here's a picture of the beautiful y they made - from where i was sitting in the nosebleed section - and they even spelled cougars. but i didn't get a good picture of that.
finally the team came out, and it was great. everyone screamed, it was tons of fun, and even though the sun was in my face the entire time... i had fun. we started out a little rough, and i'm guessing it's because of our true FRESHMAN quarterback, but either way, it was exciting. by half time, we were down 13-17. then we had a presentation for the "all-american byu quarterbacks" (including steve young, robbie bosco, jim mcmahon, and washington's head coach steve sarkisian) and lavell edwards. it was cool... i didn't even know he was alive! but he is. and i saw him on the big screen! :)
ok... funny story. so it was SUPER SUPER hot where i was sitting, and i saw the usual sunglasses, caps, "hand visors," but this one was new...
hahahahaha!!!! so the guy tied his admissions ticket to his head with his SHOELACE!!! it was ridiculous and i had to get a picture so i could blog it. :P
anyway, we came back in the 2nd half. by that time it was really BURNING up... so amy's friend told us we could go sit by them. we did... and on the way, i got closer to the players than i ever have before. i thought of nell... and i had to document the moment. :P
we finally won 23-17 (here's the team rushing the field after the win). it was a little too close for comfort, because i don't think washington is ranked, but a win is a win i guess. it was a good way to open the season. i love byu football. that's all.
