MARCH
one of the outreaches that we got to do was one with make a wish foundation. i don't remember this boys name already (i could find out if you want), but he loves geology and his wish was to go to hawaii and see the volcanoes. i was able to be there when we told him the news. it was a cool experience.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSUE!!! :) thanks for always letting me come over to your house and take up space! hehe... :)
my calling was the additional relief society meetings coordinator (person in charge of enrichment nights). this months activity was iron chef: 139th edition. basically, we had a bunch of different sweets and they had a time limit and had to make some good dessert. we brought in some boys to be judges and each team was judged on creativity, taste, use of ingredients, team work, and presentation. here are the 3 teams.
after (and while) things with TJ... disintegrated... i had a couple hard weeks. my roommate was amazing and sent me on a little scavenger hunt with these things to make me feel better and she that she cared. it was so sweet of her, and it definitely made me feel better. :) *if you don't know the full story about TJ and you wanna know, just ask me*
luau helped to keep me busy and gave me something to look forward to. i danced a couples hula with brother in hawaii and we both did new zealand too. the family and friends came to watch and it was fun. sometimes a little embarrassing, but definitely fun. hehe.

mfg 201 creative project
this is somewhat, VERY embarrassing, especially considering how roughly done (as in, it's EXTREEEEMLY choppy) it was in the two-day span that i did it, but this project got me 200/200, which i'm sure helped my grade a ton. haha, it's somewhat hard to believe that. anyway... here it is...
confused? look here.

FIESTA!
tonight i was able to go to fiesta. i saw a bunch of friends who were performing in fiesta, and i met a bunch of other friends who went to watch. i'm so glad that i was able to go. i think many of the dances were very good, and i liked a lot of it better than last years. it made me miss dancing for a little bit, but mostly it simply made me more excited for luau!! :) here's my plug for luau-- march 22-23, in the wilk ballroom. tickets go on sale on MONDAY!! :) here are the pictures i took with friends:
allan and monica (friends i made from doing colombia last year)
after the show, i went with friends to the dance where i got to latin dance for the first time in a long time... sooo great! :) i'm glad i went, it was super fun.

children's fair
this morning after our luau practices, i went to work at the children's fair for the byu black history month. it was actually a lot more fun than i thought and it was definitely SOOOO much better than doing 2 papers for my multicultural class. i worked with a guy named brian (that's actually not his given name but people -- including myself-- cannot pronounce his actual first name) who's from zimbabwe. our group topic that we had to teach was south african music and dance. we decided to teach the children how to make one instrument (it's like a maraca) and some dances. it was pretty last minute (if you think of fiesta as far as organization... that's kind of how it was), but i had fun... even after 6 hours of dancing for luau! :) here are some pictures from my shift:

they had another "first" dance...
gma kua got to be with her siblings (uncle bennett, gma, and nt dahlia).. so cute! =P
nt leiola and her daughters danced a hula (wehi, kahelena, lahaina, nt leiola, kekai, mi nei, and ha`aheo)...
her granddaughters danced a hula...
and then urahutia productions took over. i felt like i was at the hotel or something... and i couldn't help thinking how much i would have to pay to see this if i were at a hotel. hahaha! here are a few pictures of their performances...
