let freedom ring!

since tomorrow is the 4th of july, and it's also a sunday, our family decided to go to the base to watch the fireworks there, and eat at the bouche's house. so we went to check it out. this year it was by shenanigans, so there were the usual things for a carnival-ish gathering:
booths...
a stage for the entertainment...
and inflatables!

at the bouche's house we had the "typical" american meal: hamburgers, hot dogs, and jello fruit salad.
dad and uncle bud cooked the burgers/hot dogs! =)
it was really quite good. we also met their son's dog, max, who is really a mellow dog, even though he's an american pit bull. i had fun with him. and so did mom! lol...
we hung out at the bouche's house until the fireworks. this year, they made "USA" in the show, so that was cool. i got a few pictures of the show (which we went right outside to see).
it's funny to think that last year, this time, the grandbabies were here and we were watching the fireworks on the mana stretch. how time flies! i'm grateful to live in this country, where we have freedoms and rights and agency to choose what we do. today is a day of gratitude. =)

for you, mom

i thought of you and your concerns about staying at home. listen to elder holland. he is a man of god. =)

and even though you didn't "officially" start your journey, cam, i believe you are included as well. =) thank you for your examples of what kind of a mother i would like to be.

SOO cute

i complain about my job and how i don't like some things about it, but i realized that it's mostly because of the people i have to work with, or the circumstances of my work, and not the kids. i love the kids. they're so cute, and they make me laugh, and they generally listen to and respect me (with a few exceptions).
kelvin, aka "bulla" decided to make the puzzle box his hat. he was so proud of his idea that he was grinning from ear to ear when i told him i wanted to take a picture.

this is exactly the kind of thing that makes my job worth it. ;P

home teaching lesson

tonight our home teachers came over. bro mecham is such a great man. =) he came over with joseph. they shared a talk from president monson called canaries with gray on their wings. it was a wonderful story about inner beauty and it just reminded me of my previous epiphany about beauty. read it... it's a wonderful message.

it's IN!

GOOD NEWS!! mauri's mission call has been sent in to church headquarters. now, we wait. =P
