counting my blessings

i had my orientation for my summer job today... ALL DAY! i went there excited, and came out kinda bummed. here's why: (1) i found out that i won't be getting paid on wednesdays because they go on field trips, so i don't work. this means less money. (2) then i found out that i'll only be working 6 hours a day instead of 8 hours a day. less money. (3) then i found out that there's 2 furlough fridays. once again... less money.

so i decided that i will count my blessings and be happy instead. here are the blessings ONLY associated with this job, so i know i've got a TON more =D:

ITS A JOB!!!
job = $$$ (even if it is less than i expected)
i get to work close to home (kekaha)
it's good for my resume
i get to be a teacher, where i can make my own lesson plans
my lesson plans don't need to be completely like school
i get to spend time with friends
i basically get along with my other co-workers
i get paid to hang out with kids
the field trips that i won't get paid for are to the beach and pool = TAN! ;P
it's only for 6 weeks, and i don't work on weekends meaning more time for family after work is pau
there's only 60 kids, instead of 150 (like lihue nc) signed up for kekaha
i asked/hoped for this job, and i got it
i get to help little kids, almost like a brats kinda thing! =D (nell would appreciate that... )

that's all i can think of now, but i'm sure there will be more as i get to know the kids a little better. i just wanted to share with you all how grateful i am for all of these blessings that i DO have because of this job.
