day for elders

yesterday mauri was set apart as a missionary for the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints. he is now elder escobedo. before he was set apart, he skyped me to say goodbye one more time, since i didn't go to his farewell in provo, or to drop him off at the mtc. he's there now... getting ready to go to guatemala for the next 2 years. he leaves the mtc after 3 weeks for guatemala.
today, i was able to spend sometime with old-time friends, the fukinos. makoto was set apart as a missionary as well, and now is elder fukino. i went to breakfast with him and his dad to denny's before he had to report to the mtc. then we went to costco and walmart before we dropped him off at the curb. now he's getting ready to go to san jose, california for the next 2 years. he leaves the mtc in 3 weeks as well.
seems to me that today is the day for elders. :)

  4. i'm glad we got to see him before he reported. it was good to know that he was excited. it was a different experience for me to be on the goodbye end without having the connection still in the mtc... i hope you go on a mission, rach :)
