new years resolutions

last night for fhe, the lesson was on new years resolutions. i was just thinking about them and how it seems that no one ever actually follows through with their resolutions. that got me thinking about the goals that i wrote earlier this year (i like the word "goals" better :P), and how i did on them. here were the goals (pasted from a previous post, along with commentary)...

attend the temple at least once a month

* i didn't go EVERY month, but i have been able to go every week for a while! :) maybe this year i'll be able to. *

make it to every devotional

* didn't quite make it to every devotional, but i made it to lots of them, and learned so much! *

read at least five verses of the bom EVERY DAY

* didn't read FIVE EVERY DAY, but i have been getting better*

feel for the spirit

* DEFINITELY been able to learn more about this :) *

call home regularly

* haven't as much as i could have... still working on it *

keep the word of wisdom

* although i don't drink or smoke or whatever, i wrote this meaning to eat healthier, more exercise and sleep. i failed MISERABLY on the exercise and sleep part, so that's why it's not crossed out. i'll do better *

study the AIMs of byu

* didn't even look at those*

STUDY. period.

* i actually got A LOT better at procrastination, and did more things BEFORE the hour before they’re due! :) *

participate in luau (hawaii and new zealand sections)

* yup i did this AND fiesta, and i’m planning to do it again this year. i’m excited! *

make other/more friends

* i’ve been able to do lots of this. like i’ve told lots of people before, i’ve realized that’s why i needed to become an RA *

be helpful and patient

* still trying to be better at this, but i’ve also done pretty well *

send mauri off on a mission

* check! and he’s doing well! :) *

magnify my calling

* still 100% on my VT, and trying to really be there for my teachees. i’m also really enjoying teaching the sunday school *

be an example

* not quite sure what i meant when i first wrote this, but i think i’ve been a good example at least to my girls *

figure out living situation for fall 2010 (and winter too)

* i did find this one out, but now i’ve got to find out NEXT YEARS! :S *

be aware of/careful with my monies

* considering i don’t have much to be aware of, i think i’ve done ok so far. now it’s just applying for more *

BALANCE

* i feel like i’ve done a pretty good job at this. i think i’ve been able to have fun, while still being responsible and careful! :) *

considering all that happened, i think 11 out of 17 makes this year a considerably well accomplished year (if i can say so myself)! :P i'm glad they turned out to be goals and not resolutions... :)
