just what i needed

isn't it just amazing when the lord answers concerns that you never realized you had? or that you thought you had already taken care of? that's what happened to me today. i've been preparing for my lesson in church (for those who don't know, i'm a teacher for the temple prep class in my ward) through the week, and i wasn't very sure of how to teach it, especially because i've never actually gone through the temple.

anyway, as i was doing the homework for my TELL 400 class, i read the talk from elder wirthlin, "concern for the one." even though this talk wasn't addressing what i was trying to prepare for, a quote stood out to me that ended up completely relating to my situation:

"For you members of the Church who hold back because of feelings of inadequacy, I plead with you to step forward, put your shoulder to the wheel, and push. Even when you feel that your strength can add little, the Church needs you. The Lord needs you. Remember that the Lord often chooses "the weak things of the world" to accomplish His purposes. "

this was exactly what i didn't know i needed. :) i'm so appreciative for tender mercies like these where he sends reassurance and peace. i've put my shoulder to the wheel and prepared the lesson. hopefully tomorrow it will be what everyone needs to hear, just as this quote was the comfort i needed. :)
